During the war in our country in 1971, many people were displaced from their homes. Many migrated from East Bengal to West Bengal to save their lives by leaving their ancestral homes. Among these migrants, there were more Hindus than Muslims. Because the Pakistani invading forces, being Muslims themselves, tortured the Muslims, but did not beg for their lives as soon as they got the Hindus. Therefore, it does not mean that Muslims were less persecuted. Especially when young men were seen in the house, they were shot and killed thinking that they might join the liberation army. And women, there was no woman who had been noticed by any of the Pakistani invasion forces and had managed to keep her honor intact. I have written these words to explain the situation and instability of the country at that time. Not for any other purpose. Because now the true story that I am going to tell you, that's all you need to know about that. Many Bengali Hindu families migrated in 1971. So many dilapidated Hindu houses and lands are seen in our country after independence. A lot of it was occupied, and a lot of it was bought from the government at a very low price. This incident happened to a distant relative of mine. But he is someway my grandfather. So I will call him grandpa.
A few months after independence, grandfather's house fell under the influence of the river. His entire cropland and ancestral houses were swept away by the river. So he had to leave that village and go to another village. He started looking for a house to stay in in that other village. He had his wife with him, and very little money. Then the people of that village found an abundant Hindu house in the forest outside that village. Grandpa reached that house in the forest with his wife. On reaching there he saw that a house was completely empty. It was not a solid house, but a hut made of fences and bamboo. That house had two rooms and a kitchen attached to the room. And there was a bathroom a little away from the rooms. Seeing the condition of the house, grandpa kept thinking to himself that instead of staying in this house in the forest in such an isolated place, he could have stayed somewhere safe in the village among the people. And besides, there was no boundary outside the house. So he thought that let's spend the night tonight, the house repair work can be done from tomorrow.
In the middle of the night when they were sleeping, grandfather woke up. Waking up, he could hear someone crying in the room next to them. And the cry was a woman's voice. He thought, 'Who is crying in the next room at night? ' How did he enter the room? Is the thief broken the fence? Why would he cry if he is a thief? ' He realized that the sound of crying was slowly coming from the next room towards their room. Then he saw something like the shadow of a woman in a corner of the dark room slowly approaching their bed. Suddenly his wife woke up from her sleep and grabbed him by the neck. He calmed down his wife and saw that the shadow was no longer in the room. He fell asleep with a blanket wrapped in fear.
The next morning he asked his wife why she had done that in her sleep last night. The grandmother said that in her sleep, she saw a terrifying woman coming toward her. In the dream, she pinched that woman to save her. Grandpa did not tell him what he had seen. That day he started repairing the house with the masons. Those who came to repair asked if grandfather was having any problem in this house. Grandpa told them that there was a little trouble at night. Then one of them said, 'Yes, there will be trouble in this house. ' Grandpa was busy with other things and couldn't ask why it would be a problem.
It was raining a lot that night. Grandfather and grandmother quickly fell asleep. Grandma needed to go to the bathroom late at night. As I said earlier that the bathroom was a bit far from the rooms. So she called grandfather to go with her. But grandfather did not want to go with her as he was tired. He asked her to go to the bathroom alone. So grandma went to the bathroom alone. After a while, grandmother came back and lay down next to the grandfather. Grandfather put his hand on grandmother, but grandmother's body seemed unusually cold and wet to him. Grandmother was lying facing the other side. As soon as grandpa held her hand, she looked back at grandpa. But grandfather saw that it was not the grandmother. In the grandmother's place, there was a horrible vision woman. Who twisted grandfather's throat with her long, slender tongue. Grandpa desperately wanted to loosen the tongue from his throat, but could not. On the contrary, the more he tried to loosen it, the tighter the noose began to wrap around his neck. Grandpa started looking for anything. A small lamp was lit beside their bed. Finding nothing else, he stabbed the burning lamp at the tongue. He saw that the terrible woman's face and tongue were on fire. Then the female figure screamed out loud. Grandfather immediately left the room and ran to the bathroom to see how Grandmother was. He went there and found the grandmother lying unconscious outside the bathroom. When he returned home with grandmother, there was no one in the house. He spent the rest of the night without sleep.
When grandma regained consciousness in the morning, he asked to know what happened to her during the night. The grandmother said that when she came out of the bathroom and was coming back home, she saw a woman. That woman was standing in the middle of the courtyard and facing opposite grandma. When grandmother asked for her 'who', she looked back at her and grandmother saw that her face was very scary. The female pushed grandmother, then she didn't remember anything else.
That day, when the masons came again to repair the house, grandpa started questioning the mason who had commented on the house the previous day. Grandpa asked him why he made such a comment, did he know about this house? The man then told grandpa that the Hindu family that used to live in this house had a daughter. That girl committed suicide by hanging herself in this house. Ever since that girl died, many paranormal things started happening in this house. So her parents left the house. Even when the house was empty or when returning home in the evening, many woodcutters would hear the sound of crying from inside the house. Sometimes someone called them. So people stopped moving around this house, even during the day.
After hearing this, grandfather did not repair that house. He left that village with grandmother and went to another village.
