Fifty Years Ago

An incident happened when my uncle was young, about 50 years ago. There were not so many tall buildings in this area then. All houses were single or double-Storeyed. There is a very big field in our area. Outside of which the market surrounds. In one corner of this field was a hundred-and-fifty-year-old banyan tree, which is not there now. Every evening Uncle and his friends used to sit and chat in a tea shop in that market. At night, everyone would go home.

One winter evening, they were sitting in the tea stall and chatting. When it was ten o'clock at night, they noticed that people were going home. Talking they were so busy that they didn't even notice that, and only Uncle and his friend Ripon are left to go home. In those days there was not so much population or density. So at ten o'clock at night all the streets would be empty. The two of them looked around and saw that all the other shops in the market were closed except the tea stall. And stall owner is closing the stall in front of them and left. They saw that there were no people anywhere. Now they started to feel fear. They fear thieves and robbers on a lonely road, and even though their houses are on the same side of the market, there is a banyan tree covering most of the road that they have to go to their house. That is, the two of them have to pass under the banyan tree in this lonely environment.

Now let me say that they were afraid of coming under that banyan tree because my uncle is a native of this area and since childhood, he has heard various paranormal activities happening to surround that banyan tree. It is a haunted tree, and many people have had ghostly experiences while passing under it at night. So neither of the two friends agreed to go home under that tree in this environment. But there is no other way to go home. Their two houses were on the same street. Ripon's house was at the beginning of the lane and Uncle's house was at the end. On the other hand, they had another friend's house on another side of the market. They started thinking about whether to spend the night there. At that time, they saw a person slowly coming to them from the other side of the market.

After coming forward, it was seen that the person was their long-time acquaintance John. Who works as a night guard in the field and market area. Even though John was very senior, the relationship was like a friend. Seeing John, their fear disappeared. John came and asked, 'What's the matter? What are you doing here at night? 'Uncle replied, 'We were going home. Can you walk with us home?' John said, 'Why not? Come with me. ' Saying this he started walking. Uncle started walking behind him. John said, 'It's good, you two didn't go under this banyan tree alone. This tree is not good. Many people see a lot surrounding it. ' Then uncle asked him, 'Do you ever see anything? You do duty here at night. " John said, 'Yes, I saw. ' Uncle said, 'Then tell us what did you see. ' Then John started talking while walking.

'One night when I was guarding, I saw a woman sitting in the middle of the market wearing a red saree. No girl is supposed to be in the market at this midnight, I thought. She was a bride. Her face is not visible because of her jewelry and long veil. But by looking at the movement of her body, it is understood that she is crying. I was shocked. Thinking that the girl was in danger, I approached her and asked, 'What happened to you? Any problem? ' Hearing my words she stops crying, stood up, and started walking quickly. I also started walking behind her to see where she goes. I saw that she went to this banyan tree and started climbing it. Then went up the tree and disappeared in front of my eyes. I tried to shine a torch on the tree to see where she had gone. But did not find her anywhere. '

Uncle said, 'This is not scary at all, if you have a scary story, we want to listen to more scary stories. John said, "Do you want to be scared? Then listen to another story. I passed this road one night. Then I saw something, wearing white cloth coming down from the banyan tree. I was at a distance from that thing. Seeing this, I started walking across the road so that the object would not face to face with me. Let him go his own way and I will go mine. Because whatever it was, I knew at a glance that it was not a human being. If you don't disturb them, they won't harm you. And if there is an obstacle in their way, they will definitely harm who will be the obstacle. So I started walking on the opposite side of the road. But soon I saw the thing coming towards me crossing the road. ' At this moment in the story, they are standing in front of the gate of Ripon's house. When the story will over, Ripon will leave and go to his house and Uncle will go to his house. Then uncle asked, 'Then what happened? ' John said, 'That thing came to near my face. And his tongue stuck like that. ' Saying this, John stuck out his tongue. But both uncle and his friend were very scared after seeing that scene. Uncle pushed his friend inside the gate of the house and immediately jumped inside the house himself. Because what they saw was so terrible that no normal person could do it. As John stuck out his tongue in imitation of what the incorporeal person had done that day, his own tongue, a foot and a half long hung down to his chest. And at that moment his two eyes were bright red and wide. Which was unusually large and bulky. He did not seem like a man at all. Seeing this scene, Uncle got scared and went inside Ripon's house to get away from John.

John then asked with a smile, 'What's the matter? Are you scared? Don't you go home? Let's go to your home. ' Uncle realized something was wrong with John. It is not possible for any human being to do what he did a little while ago. And from Ripon's house to his house he has to go together with John. It can harm him if it is an incorporeal being other than John. Moreover, the way that John spoke, it seemed that he was waiting for uncle to be alone. So uncle quickly said, 'No, you don't have to bring me home. I'll be staying at Ripon's tonight. I will not go home. ' Saying this, they sent John back. Later spent the night at Ripon's house.

The next morning the two friends went to John's home. They went there and asked him, 'What happened to you last night? Why did you do that? ' In response, they learned from John that they had not met him last night. Because he could not go to duty due to a high fever. Uncle and his friend were very surprised. They could not believe this. Because two people have spent so much time with John, talking, how could they be wrong? So they asked the people of the market if John was really off duty that day. Then came to know that John was telling the truth, he did not go on duty that night.

Now the question is, who was it that told them the paranormal stories of that banyan tree and who wanted to get Uncle alone on the way? What would he do if he got Uncle alone?
